We love innovative, well-crafted work and we are constantly looking for talented Western Pennsylvania artists.  Whether self-taught, formally trained or a combination of both, if you design and produce in Pennsylvania, we would love to partner with you.

Process:

• Portfolios are reviewed on a rolling basis so artists may submit portfolios at any time. Any work you submit will be considered for placement in the Bottlebrush Gallery and Shop on consignment.
• All submissions are reviewed via a password-protected web site by a panel of judges consisting of artists, craftspeople, and supporters of the arts. To promote fairness, many of the judges live out of state. Judges look for quality, skill, originality, and weigh in on whether or not they feel a particular artist’s work would appeal to our demographic.
• The review process typically takes about two to four weeks, during which we may contact you with questions or to request more information.
• Upon acceptance, we will ask to see physical examples of your work.
• If we decide not to display your work at that time, we will notify you and your portfolio will be returned. We will also remove your work from the reviewing web site.
• Should you decide to withdraw your submission, your portfolio will be returned and removed from the reviewing web site.

Guidelines:

Submit by email & Flickr.com (preferred method):

1. E-mail your contact information to bottlebrushgallery@yahoo.com. Please include your name, address, and telephone number. Please also include an artist’s biography listing previous or current exhibitions and representation, education, web site, address, et cetera. You will not be eliminated from consideration if you have not exhibited previously. Should we agree to work together, we will also use this information to market your work.
2. Upon receipt of your e-mail, we will e-mail you a link to the site as well as instructions on how we would like you to upload your work and set up your private review page on the Flickr.com website.
3. We will also send a contract agreement for your consideration. Please review it and if the terms are acceptable, proceed with your submission.

Submit by mail:

1. Send a minimum of five samples of your work on slides along with your name, address, and telephone number as well as the title of each work, the medium used, and approximate dimensions. The work you submit must be representative of the style and quality you would like us to showcase.
2. Please also include an artist’s biography listing previous or current exhibitions and representation, education, web site, address, et cetera. You will not be eliminated from consideration if you have not exhibited previously. Should we agree to work together, we will also use this information to market your work.
3. Send to: Bottlebrush Gallery & Shop, P.O. Box 342, Harmony, Pa. 16037, ATTN: Submission.
4. Include a SASE stamped envelope for return. The Bottlebrush Gallery and Shop accepts no responsibility for inadequate postage. Please do not send originals.
